Lab Capability

RHI operates an in-house laboratory to support both production and R&D needs. A wide range of tests are conducted to ensure continuous improvement in mechanical strength, chemical stability, and insulation performance. These tests also help optimize machine parameters and assist customers in refining their product designs.

Key testing equipment includes:

  • Temperature Rise Tester: Measures heat rise under rated current to assess thermal stability and detect fabrication issues.

  • Metallographic Analyzer: Evaluates weld quality by examining grain fusion under a microscope after longitudinal sectioning and polishing.

  • Tensile Tester: Applies up to 10 kN of force to evaluate the tensile and shear strength of welded copper foil joints.

  • Salt Spray Tester: Simulates corrosive environments to assess surface durability with or without plating (e.g., 72-hour salt mist test).

  • Hi-pot Tester: Verifies insulation integrity under high voltage; leakage current must meet stringent standards (e.g., <0.01A).

  • Conductivity Tester: Identifies material grade based on copper content and electrical conductivity.

  • Aging Tester: Tests PVC-dip products for color fading, brittleness, and strength loss under elevated temperatures.

  • Fatigue Tester: Repeatedly bends flexible busbars to evaluate mechanical endurance over thousands of cycles.
