China CRRC launches a new generation of lightweight carbon fiber subway vehicles
At the Berlin International Rail Transit Technology Exhibition (InnoTrans 2018) in Germany, CRRC Sifang (5.410, -0.01, -0.18%) officially released a new generation of carbon fiber subway vehicle "CETROVO".
The biennial InnoTrans is considered to be the most important and comprehensive exhibition of railway and rail transit industry achievements in the world. At the real car conference held on the same day, Chinese Ambassador to Germany Shi Mingde, China CRRC President Sun Yongcai, German technical expert Hu Fenbach, China CRRC Vice President Wang Jun, and CRRC Sifang Co., Ltd. General Manager Ma Yunshuang jointly unveiled for the new car.
Ding Wei, a Chinese CRRC scientist and deputy chief engineer of CRRC Sifang Co., told reporters that the new generation of subway vehicles uses advanced carbon fiber technology, and the carbon body is used in the car body, the steering frame, the driver's cab, the equipment cabin and the equipment body. It is a metro vehicle that uses carbon fiber composite materials on a large scale. "In particular, it successfully breaks through the key technologies of large-scale complex design and manufacturing of carbon fiber, and realizes full application of the carbon fiber composite material in the vehicle body, the steering frame, the driver's cab and other vehicle’s main load bearing structure."
According to reports, compared with the traditional metal materials such as steel and aluminum alloy, the body, driver's cab and equipment cabin of the new-generation carbon fiber subway vehicle are reduced by more than 30% respectively, the weight of the bogie frame is reduced by 40%, and the vehicle is reduced by 13 %. In order to reduce energy consumption, in addition to carbon fiber lightweight technology, a new generation of subway vehicles are equipped with a new energy-efficient traction system; from the asynchronous motor of the traditional subway to the direct-drive technology of permanent magnet synchronous motor, and the use of silicon carbide converter device, greatly improved Traction efficiency of the vehicle. According to estimates, a new generation of subway vehicles can achieve more than 15% energy savings.
It is reported that in addition to the use of new materials, the new generation of subway vehicles also have greater applicability, comfort and intelligent experience. Next, a new generation of carbon fiber subway vehicles will undergo type testing and line commissioning.
China CRRC said on the same day that it will further deepen the research and verification and engineering application of carbon fiber materials on 600 km high-speed maglev trains, high-speed EMUs and subways.
